HKMA Quality Award 2021

Town Ray is pleased to announce that the Company is conferred the Merit Award in Hong Kong Management Association’s 2021 Quality Award (“HKMA Quality Award 2021”), in recognition of our ongoing efforts to develop and deploy excellent total quality management in its business.

Reputed as the “Oscar” of quality management in Hong Kong, the “HKMA Quality Award” is a prestigious annual event first established in 1991 by the Hong Kong Management Association. It seeks to reward and bring public recognition to organisations that have achieved outstanding standards of quality and made a lasting commitment to the process of quality management. The Award adopts the judging criteria of the “American Malcolm Baldrige National Quality Award”, and is equivalent to the “Japanese Deming Prize” and the “European Quality Award”. The seven judging categories provide a comprehensive framework for measuring performance excellence: leadership, strategic planning, customer and market focus, information and analysis, human resource focus, process management, and business results. In 2021, organisations faced many trials, including the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic, tense international relations, and supply chain crises. To Town Ray, receiving this award during such a challenging period not only showcases our exceptional organisational management capability, but also demonstrates our remarkable resilience.

The “HKMA Quality Award 2021” award presentation ceremony was held on 18th October 2021 at JW Marriott Hong Kong, with Mr. Christopher Hui Ching Yu JP, Secretary for Financial Services and the Treasury, as guest of honor. Mr. Chan Wai Ming, Chief Executive Officer and Executive Director of our Group, received the award from Dr. Y. K Pang, Chairman of HKMA. In his winner’s remarks, Mr. Chan said, “We are grateful to the Board, the Panel and the organising committee of HKMA for acknowledging mid-sized enterprises like Town Ray. We first began manufacturing from 1995. Over the years, we have established a strong presence in the global electrothermic household appliance industry as an advanced product designer and developer. We strived to magically transform garment care appliances to a range of kitchen appliances, such as bean-to-cup coffee machines, soup makers and food steamers. We would like to thank our founders, management, and staff, whose diligence and passion have created an ideal business platform to serve. In the future, we will continue to upscale our business and expand our presence in the global market.”
