Virtual factory tour

Under pandemic prevention and control measures, China and Hong Kong have yet to reopen borders. In light of this, Town Ray held a virtual factory tour for investors and media to provide them with a deeper understanding of the Company’s production facilities and development strategies. The attending management included Executive Director and Marketing Director - Mr. Yu Kwok Wai, Executive Director and Company Secretary - Mr. Chiu Wai Kwong, General Manager - Mr. Wong Ying Po, Quality Assurance Manager - Mr. Chu Tat Yan, and Business Manager - Mr. Chau Man Fai.

During the tour, Mr. Chau Man Fai shared that in response to the impacts of raw material supply as brought by the pandemic, the local government arranged for companies to apply for permits which enabled specific company personnel to support logistical vehicles at specific high-speed intersections, provided that they comply with other relevant pandemic prevention measures, to ensure the delivery of raw materials to manufacturing plants. As such, Town Ray’s supply chains did not experience major impacts. Mr. Chu Tat Yan showcased Town Ray’s testing laboratory, which was accredited by the National Certification Body. 3D scanning technology was employed by the laboratory team to enhance product quality control. Mr. Wong Ying Po presented the automated production lines of the plastic injection department, which showcased that the Group is gradually moving towards digitalization and Industry 4.0 to enhance production efficiency and reduce operating costs.

Mr. Yu Kwok Wai said that customer orders has been increasing, and the current order-on-hand has been satisfactory. Mr. Chiu Wai Kwong also highlighted that production capacity expansion and product development have been the primary usage of capital. The Group targets to increase production capacity of cooking appliances by 50% this year. Currently, the machine utilisation rate has exceeded 90%.

Looking towards 2022, Town Ray will continue its effort in expanding production capacity to fulfill customer demand. In addition, the Group will strengthen its product research and development, creating new products and implementing new features to bring new business opportunities for its customers.
